Measure the runs
Uppers and lowers are measured separately along the wall, in linear feet. Door and drawer counts are recorded at the same time, because they drive the hardware line rather than the cabinetry line.
Check the boxes
We open the sink base and the run beside the dishwasher, and push on the frames. Swelling, rot or a racked frame is priced as a replacement run, not hidden inside the refacing rate.
Price the material
Door style, material and overlay are chosen together and priced against the measured footage. Samples stay with you, because the same door reads differently under your own kitchen lighting.
Written and itemised
Cabinetry, hardware, countertops and any replacement run are separate lines, so you can see what each part costs rather than being handed one number to compare against another single number.
What moves a quote
The Four Things That Move a Refacing Quote
Material comes first and moves the number most. Rigid thermofoil sits at the bottom, laminate in the middle, and hardwood veneer at the top. Choosing wood over thermofoil can roughly double the cabinetry line on the same kitchen.
Door style is second. A flat slab door costs less to make than a five-piece raised panel, and glass fronts add glazing and a finished interior. Overlay matters too, because changing from partial to full overlay changes every door size in the kitchen.
Third is box condition, which is found on the site visit rather than guessed at over the phone. A single run that has to be replaced changes the shape of the job and appears as its own line. Fourth is whatever you add while the doors are already off, like pull-out shelves, soft-close hinges or a corner unit, all of which cost far less now than as a second visit next year.
