01 Acceptance of Terms
Edmonton Cabinets provides residential and commercial cabinetry services across Edmonton and the surrounding area. These Terms of Service govern the relationship between us and anyone requesting an estimate, ordering work, or having work carried out by us.
By requesting an estimate, signing a written estimate, or authorising work to begin, you agree to these terms. They apply alongside the specific scope, finishes and pricing set out on your estimate, which takes precedence where the two differ.
02 Scope of Service
We carry out cabinet refacing, painting and refinishing, door and drawer front replacement, custom cabinetry, storage and hardware, countertops and backsplash, cabinetry for bathrooms and other rooms, and commercial casework. The specific scope for your project is the one written on your estimate.
Work is scheduled subject to material and hardware availability, worktop fabrication schedules and crew availability. Where a component has a long lead time we will say so before you commit, and we may adjust a start date if a supplier moves ours.
- Service is limited to Edmonton and the surrounding communities we confirm in writing.
- Any change to scope, finish, hardware or materials must be agreed in writing before it is carried out.
- Verbal requests on site do not change the signed scope until confirmed in a written change order.
03 Estimates & Pricing
Every project begins with a free consultation and a written, itemised estimate. The estimate reflects the scope, materials, finish and hardware discussed, and is based on the measurements taken at that visit.
Estimates are valid for the period stated on the document. Significant changes in scope, site conditions found once existing cabinetry is removed, or material costs may require a revised estimate, which we will put in writing before proceeding.
- We provide a written, itemised estimate before any work is scheduled.
- You approve the estimate in writing and we confirm a start window.
- A deposit may be required to secure materials and a place on the schedule.
- The balance is due on completion unless other terms are stated in writing on the estimate.
Payment methods accepted are stated on your estimate or invoice. The final price is the amount set out in the signed estimate plus any approved written change orders, and nothing else.
04 Workmanship & Warranty
We stand behind our workmanship in writing. The specific warranty period and what it covers are stated on your estimate or contract, and we will explain both before you sign rather than afterwards.
Manufacturer-specific components such as hinges, drawer runners, coatings and engineered stone carry the maker's own warranty when installed to specification. We register or pass on that documentation where the manufacturer provides it.
05 Site Access & Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing safe, clear access to the work area. Cabinets must be emptied before we arrive, and we ask that contents are stored elsewhere rather than stacked in the room we are working in.
Plumbing, gas and electrical disconnection and reconnection are carried out by the appropriate qualified trade. We will tell you which of these your project needs and when, and we will coordinate around them where we are asked to.
- Empty all cabinets and clear worktops before the crew arrives.
- Tell us about anything concealed in the walls or floor that a normal survey would not reveal.
- Keep children and pets away from the active work area, tools and any wet finish.
06 Natural Materials & Variation
Wood is a natural material that takes up and gives off moisture with the humidity of the room. Doors and panels move slightly with the seasons, and small changes in gap or alignment through the year are a normal property of timber rather than a defect.
Grain, figure and colour vary between boards, and stone varies between slabs and even across a single slab. Samples indicate; they do not guarantee an exact match. Where a match matters, we ask you to view the actual material before it is cut.
07 Liability & Existing Conditions
Older properties rarely have level floors or plumb walls. Cabinetry is scribed and packed to fit what is actually there, and where a wall is significantly out we will tell you what that means for the finished look before we fit rather than after.
We are not responsible for the condition of existing structures, finishes or services that are revealed once old cabinetry is removed, nor for pre-existing damage behind it. Where we find something, we stop and tell you before continuing.
Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the work carried out under the relevant estimate, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
08 Cancellation & Scheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact us as early as possible. Deposits may be applied to materials already ordered or to scheduling already committed, and made-to-order items that have entered production cannot usually be cancelled.
We may move a template or installation date where a material has not arrived or site conditions would compromise the result. We are not liable for delays caused by supply shortages or by other trades running late on the same project.
Repeated access problems or unsafe site conditions that prevent work may result in additional charges or rescheduling.
09 Disputes & Claims
If you have a concern about completed work, contact us promptly at (613) 324-9141 so we can inspect it. Most issues are resolved quickly with a return visit, and an adjustment made early is usually a small one.
Claims must be made within the warranty period stated on your contract and before any third party alters the work, so that we have a fair opportunity to inspect what happened and put it right ourselves.
10 Privacy & Data Use
We collect only the information needed to provide estimates and complete projects, such as your name, contact details and project address. We do not sell personal information.
We may use project photographs for portfolio and marketing purposes unless you ask us in writing not to.
11 Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your project is the one in effect on the date you sign your estimate.
Questions about these terms can be directed to Edmonton Cabinets at (613) 324-9141 or through our contact page.
